WOU opens regional support office in Klang

Wawasan Open University has turned another page in its mission to better serve its students and reach the community more extensively with the opening of a new regional support office, that is, the Klang Regional Support Office (Klang RSO).

The Klang RSO, after opening its doors to students and the public, immediately got down to business to promote WOU and recruit students for the July 2012 intake. The office is headed by Senior Marketing and Admission Executive Ng Ai Chen.

The Klang RSO along with the Bandar Utama Regional Support Office (BURSO) will be supporting the Kuala Lumpur Regional Office in servicing the entire Klang Valley and neighbouring localities.

Director of Regional Operations and Marcom KH Chong said that this office is needed in view of the large catchment of students within the central region and to further strengthen WOU’s presence in the Klang Valley.

The setting up of the Klang RSO has been part of the regional expansion network since 2008, finally materialising and coming to fruition once a suitable site was chosen in February this year.

According to KH Chong, “The setting up of Klang RSO is crucial in helping WOU extend its reach in key growth areas within the most densely populated region in the country. With this support office, potential students from Klang and its surrounding areas need not travel quite a distance to Cheras or Bandar Utama for any enquiries or studies with WOU.”

At the Klang RSO, students can register and enrol for courses, source for financial assistance, make fee payments, and obtain guidance on their selection of appropriate courses or on other non-academic challenges, as well as have a place to seek assistance or solutions to their concerns and grievances.

The Klang RSO is situated at No. 41 (Ground Floor), Jalan Kasuarina 2/KS 7,Bandar Botanic Capital,41200 Klang, Selangor. The contact details are as follows – tel. no: 03-3325 2353/ 3325 2373; fax no: 03-3325 2313; and email Address: [email protected]

WOU will be opening another support service in Subang in July to enable WOU to further tap into the large workforce and prospects in the Klang Valley.
